Let’s make tortillas! Eva, who makes handmade tortillas for Davila’s will be teaching you, step-by-step, how to make a hand-made tortilla. We provide a list of ingredients (below), so that participants enter the google hangout ready to make their own. During the hangout we will all make tortillas in order to share our creations with the rest of the hangout group.

2 cups corn flour (suggest Maseca Corn Masa)  or make your own nixtamal (need 2 before the session)
1 tsp. sea salt or regular salt
1 1/4 cup hot water
1 tsp. flour

This hangout aims to connect a worldwide community of people homesick for tortillas.  Some living far from where tortillas can be purchased, and others who find their supermarket tortillas a poor replacement for the delicious tortillas they equate with home.  If the tortilla is a staple of your diet, you may already know that it’s consumption, and even the act of going to the tortilleria spans generations and classes.  If you just think they are delicious, find out how easy it is to make your own delicious tortillas.
